Eating a wide range of produce is a healthy way to live. Antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamins, and nutrients are found in many types of produce. Usually what is healthy for your body is also healthy for your mouth.
Enjoy Nutritious Foods
Just looking at a plate full of color is pleasing to the eye. We have all seen impressive appetizer trays that boast many different colors, flavors, and regional cuisines. These rainbow foods benefit your body and your mouth.
Red fruits for instance, like strawberries and raspberries, are packed full of nutritional benefits. Red fruits contain antioxidants that may help fight heart disease and cancer. Antioxidants also soak up free radicals. Eating red fruits is important not only for your body but also your mouth. These antioxidants fight disease in your mouth.
For a long time, blueberries have been considered a superfood. They have a sweet flavor and are packed with nutrition. They have been shown to counteract heart disease and cancer as well as improve mental health and blood pressure. Blueberries provide vitamin C and can improve your gums as well. Other blue and purple foods like grapes, plums, figs and blackberries should be an important part of your diet.
Lastly, do not underestimate the power of yellow and orange fruits and vegetables. Pumpkins, yellow peppers, mangoes, peaches, and apricots deserve a mention. They contain a powerhouse of nutrition that your body and mouth can use to fight infection and stay healthy.
